Disney India Has Launched A 3D Sports Meta-universe Platform

On February 7, 2023, Disney Star, the Indian arm of Disney, announced that it will launch a 3D interactive platform for Indian sports fans: Starverse, which features support for cross-device, multi-mode and co-social experiences. Starverse has been in proof-of-concept for months, according to a senior Disney Star official.

Disney is calling Starverse an always-on virtual social/meta-universe platform that is currently available in a browser, with further gameplay to be announced by Disney India in the future, such as gaming infrastructure. Disney plans to use Starverse to test new features and learn about user behavior in the 3D ecosystem to refine the final version.
