The Difference Between A Tablet And A Laptop

- Dec 19, 2022-

A tablet computer, also known as a laptop, is a small, portable personal computer that uses a touch screen as its basic input device. It has a touch screen that allows users to work with a stylus or digital pen rather than a traditional keyboard or mouse. Users can type with built-in handwriting recognition, an on-screen soft keyboard, speech recognition, or a real keyboard.

The difference between a tablet and a laptop

1. Form

The laptop uses non-touch operation, and occasionally uses a touch screen. The structure is more complex than tablet computers, which can provide more interfaces and support more peripheral devices. Most tablet computers use touch operation, but some products use a detachable keyboard or slide-out keyboard, so the structure is very compact and simple.

2. Weight

Tablets generally weigh less than 1kg, with a 10-inch tablet weighing between 600g and 900g.

Laptops are rarely less than 1kg, and even netbooks are usually around that.

3. Volume

Tablet computers normally use a 7-10 inch screen, the overall volume is slightly larger than the LCD, the thickness is no more than 15mm, the thickness of the second-generation tablet computer products of first-line brands is mostly controlled within 1 cm.

The thickness of the notebook is basically about 20mm, and the ultra-thin notebook is more than 15mm. The netbook also uses an LCD screen of 10 inches, and the ordinary notebook has the largest number of 14-inch notebooks.

4. Input

Most of the tablet's commands are entered with your fingers, and the microphone and gravity sensor are used to assist with specific operational inputs.

Most of the input is done with a keyboard, mouse, and trackpad, with the occasional microphone or other peripheral device.

5. Use the environment and functions

Tablet computers are smaller, lighter and simpler. They can be used almost anywhere. They focus on entertainment and are normally used for browsing the web, watching videos, reading books and playing games.

The laptop, which requires a place to put it, is an all-purpose device that, with the exception of a few gravity-sensing games, can be played on the laptop.

6. Content application

Tablet computers are used to consume content, while laptops can be used to create or consume content. Laptops have more advantages, but from the future development trend, people who consume content will account for the majority, while those who create less content will use laptops at work.
